How To Retrieve a dead blackberry phone
Note: When fixing a dead blackberry phone, you cant make a backup of your data because the phone can not be accessed, so after reviving it, all your stuffs will be lost and the phone will come out clean like its new.
Step #1: First of all, what you need is your computer, This time make sure your blackberry is NOT connected to your computer.
Step #3: Locate and Open the App Loader application.Â You need to locate this manually after installation. Open your file browser, go to your C Drive (operating system drive) and navigate your way through the folders to Program Files > Common Files >Research In Motion > AppLoader.
Once you are in the AppLoader directory, double click on the Loader application shortcut. Once Loader opens, you can click NextÂ and then proceed to Step #4.
Step #4: Now you need to connect the BlackBerry to the Computer via USB cable.
Step #5: So here comes with a little trick. Unlike if you are working with a working phone which you just want to upgrade or reload the OS, the connection box, like we have above will show the com port, Like COM1, but because we are using a blackberry phone that is dead you will getÂ USB-PIN:UNKNOWN like you have it below.
So once you see this, click Next immediately. Doing this will enable us get hold of the blackberry and stop it from rebooting, then you will be able to reload the Operating System.
Note: The USB-PIN:UNKNOWN option will display for a few seconds so you have to be fast.
Step #5: Now that you have done that, you can then load the OS software you have downloaded and installed
Select the OS options you want to install
Approve the Operating System Installation Options
Sit back and relax and let the installer do its thing
Installation Complete! Just sit back and let your BlackBerry Reboot
